Chaos With a Chorus: Lady Vengeance’s “Dracula Shot Up the Car Park (A Metaphor for the Heart)” Releases February 25, 2026

WESTWOOD, CA — February 20, 2026 — Los Angeles punk band just wants to have fun with their latest single release “Dracula Shot Up the Car Park (A Metaphor for the Heart).” Known for their gritty edge and theatrical intensity, the band leans into a more playful side on this track, marking a period of experimentation and renewed focus on the joy of making music together.

The song’s origins are as chaotic as its title suggests. Vocalist Collette first conceived the idea after a bizarre dream in which Dracula rampaged through a parking lot and she got caught in the cross-fire. This surreal image later became the seed of a joke shared between bandmates and became the catalyst for a low-stakes, unserious jam session. What began as two verses written half-seriously by Collette and guitarist Kate in their apartment quickly evolved into an unexpected banger— one the rest of the band eagerly built upon as its energy took shape.

Sonically, “Dracula” thrives on simplicity. The son’s driving guitar riff anchors the track, looping into a catchy, repetitive structure that invites instant head bobbing. After more than a year of playing live shows as a band, Lady Vengeance knows how to make a song that gets the crowd going. Guitarist Kate notes how “it’s always fun when you play a riff and you can see how the audience reacts immediately.” That reaction has become central to the song’s identity. Onstage, it fuels jumping crowds, spontaneous sing-alongs, and a looseness that allows the band to tap into their more experimental side. Collete explains that “this is one of the most malleable songs we have, so there’s a lot we can do with it live, which is fun.” The band’s ability to stretch and reshape the track in real time has made it into a fan favorite, even before its recorded release.

At its core, “Dracula” is less about narrative and more about connection. It’s a reminder that some of the best kinds of songs are the ones that simply get people moving, laughing, and sharing an experience. As the band looks ahead to more live shows and continued experimentation, they’re taking time to write freely, perform often, and let the next chapter unfold without a strict timeline.

“Dracula Shot Up the Car Park (A Metaphor for the Heart)” releases on February 25th, 2026, on all major streaming platforms.

Drop the pressure. Chase the fun.
